Artist Poster

This is the poster that was created using Photoshop to advertise Sidney Sanderson's new upcoming single. The poster was based a lot around the Never Say Never poster from our ideal artist Justin Bieber. The main photo for the poster was taken whilst we were out filming on location so the poster also directly relates to the music video that we have created for our song. We had a choice of various photographs and decided to go with this because our artist was looking directly at the audience and got them more involved in the poster.

New Video

After listening to audience feedback, it became apparent to us that we needed some sort of female input into our video. We have put a scene at the start of the video, with a girl and the main actor having a confrontation, and ends with the girl walking away. This gives the video more of a path to follow and we feel that this has helped improve the video as a whole. Hope you all enjoy it!

The time has come for Sidney Sanderson's music video for As Long As You Love Me. The video will be released later on today for the first time. 

06/11/13 Lesson Overview

In this lesson, as a group we finished our story board, and figured out exactly what is going to happen throughout our video.

Website Research

This is the homepage of the Justin Bieber website. We have looked at this website because it is the website of our chosen artist so we can look at it for ideas on content and the sorts of house styles used.  From the homepage it is noticeable that the website is set out similarly to a blog where you can scroll down the page for the most recent posts about the artist. Our website will take influences from this because we are going to use the news bar that was featured on this particular website that was there to inform fans of new content and upcoming shows that could be changed at any time.

Epdate on Editing

After our many hours of editing we have finally collected all our film needed for our completed music video. We found a stumbling block when editing as it took us a while to convert the files from .avi to mp4. This set us back by a week and we had to work fast to get our final product by our set deadline. Within the next few days our music video will be finalised and completed for viewing. Once we have finished our editing we will use the next blog posts will show our journey through this media project and we will evaluate our groups roles and how developed skills and used our strengths to create our music video.

This is the photo shoot we did for our artist. Using different angles and the sun too our advantage to make some excellent photos. 

We thought rather than using a studio that we would take the opportunity during filming to use the weather and lovely natural surroundings to our advantage to add a little bit more creativity to the shoot. We have took pictures where the sun is behind us, in front, to the side. I think that we have took some well angled photos and they look like they could be used on a website or magazine spread.

Interview with Sidney Sanderson

Jacob: Hey Sidney, great to finally meet you!


Sidney: Yeah you too man, pleasures all mine.


Jacob: So man, where do you get your influence from?


Sidney: Erm, to be honest there's so many, everyone influences me.


Jacob: So no one in particular no?


Sidney: No man, sorry.


Jacob: So when did you learn that you could sing?


Sidney: Well I learnt how to play Guitar when I was 8 and then when I turned 10 I started to sing. I started to perform for my family and friends and it sort of went from there.


Jacob: So now that your in this career, who would you compare yourself too?


Sidney: I don't compare myself too anyone, I'm my own Artist. I take inspiration from success acts, but I'm my own artist and I'll never compare myself to anyone.


Jacob: Would you give that advice to youngsters that want a singing career?


Sidney: Yeah of course, be yourself, be your own artist and you'll find success. ]


Jacob: So away from Music, do you have any hidden talents? Maybe interests other than music.


Sidney: I'm a keen skater and also play a bit of snooker. I've done both of them for years and they are my escape from the real world.


Jacob: Very interesting! Quite a mix of interests there, thing you'd ever be good enough at either of them to make a profession from?


Sidney: Well, I enjoy both of them a lot, but their my escape. Music is my one and only career, it's been my dream for years. Making music for the fans and making people smile is what I love doing.


Jacob: Who would you most like to work with?


Sidney: I think I probably would like to work with another young artist such as Justin Bieber, but also someone like so successful like Drake. There both incredible artists.


Jacob: If you had to pick one?


Sidney: It would have to be Drake


Jacob: Ahh good choice man! So finally, what can we expect from you in the future?


Sidney: Well at the moment, I'm promoting my current single and working on my second single release, which will be out in March. Also where working hard my album which will be out later this year. After that I hope to start touring, getting out and seeing the fans. They deserve some live shows, and I want to give it too them.


Jacob: That's superb to hear man, I'm sure all the Sidney Sanderson fans out there will be the thrilled! It's been a pleasure man, thank you for stopping by to chat to us!

As you can see, we are trying all different types of angles and styles of shooting, and hopefully this will all lead to a very impressive finished product. We didnt' use the green screen effects as we want our video to have more of a behinds the scenes feel to it in these areas, showing a real new breed in music videos for this particular artist.

Justin Bieber current controversy

Justin Bieber has recently been arrested for speeding and drag racing, being in possession of Marijuana, being under the influence of Alcohol and resisting arrest. This is bring him negative publicity and is not helping his public image in the slightest.

This has positive and negative effects for our Artists.

Positive effects.....
1. With all the attention on Bieber being negative, our artist can make a name for himself in a good way with positive release of information of his Album.
2. His fan base can grow as he is setting a positive example and with Justin currently not bringing out any new songs or albums, there is a gap in the market for Sydney to get in.
3. From this, our artist could take top spot in that sector and could prepell him into the public eye.

Negative effects.....
1. The public could just assume that artist is in the same mould as Beiber and then decide to not take any notice.
2. This could effect the start up of his career, killing it off before it's really got going.
3. It may slow record sales, both in store and online, stopping the money coming in.
